An absurdist FPS/interactive fiction game where you murder stupid robots, chat with idiot people, and explore a painstakingly hand-drawn and highly animated world!

I played Shooty Shooty: Robot Invasion and it's the kind of game that doesn't take your head off, but that really lets off steam. We find ourselves facing waves of robots to destroy, and the goal is simple: survive as long as possible while exploding everything that moves. The gameplay focuses on frenetic action, with shots in all directions and an intensity that quickly rises with the waves.

What I appreciated was the nervousness of the fights. The controls are quick to pick up and you quickly feel caught up in the rhythm. Each wave brings a little extra challenge and forces you to stay in constant motion. It's clearly designed for short but intense sessions, the kind of game you launch to clear your head or let off steam after a long day.

Visually, it's simple but effective. The graphic style doesn't try to be realistic or spectacular, but it does the job: you can clearly see the enemies, the shots, and the whole thing keeps an assumed arcade atmosphere. The soundtrack, energetic, accompanies this frantic pace well and contributes to the adrenaline of the fights.

Obviously, you shouldn't expect a lot of depth. The game does not offer a huge variety of mechanics and repetitiveness can be felt if you play too long. But in his field, that of the nervous and immediate shot, he fulfills his role perfectly.

In summary, Shooty Shooty: Robot Invasion is a pure and simple arcade release. No frills, just action, shooting and waves of robots to blast. Ideal for those who love direct and intense experiences, looking no further than the raw pleasure of destroying everything.

Will you give it a try?
