Hello everyone!
How are you today? I hope you're ready to follow me on this new adventure! If not, please take some time for yourself. The rest of you, let's dive right into the next novel!
As Christmas approaches, the Papillon siblings embark on a unique journey across Thailand. The six reunited children explore the country together before reuniting with their father, who has gone to rebuild his life on the island of Phi Phi.
From the first to the youngest, the camera's eye moves to project this slice of life they have chosen to share. And from gravity to lightness, between abuse and the gentleness of being, these bruised butterflies will gain height by traveling the illuminated paths of salvation.
An invitation to travel, an ode to family like a hymn to joy, Vieux frère urges you to join in its dance and escape to the rhythm of its pages.
A family of very different members appears before us when we first open the book, beings with whom we will be able to identify in one way or another. Their personalities are not at all similar, and as a result, the reader will react to them in different ways, at least that was the case for me. Their emotions are well described, blending lighter and more serious moments with ease.
I really enjoyed discovering their trip to Thailand, a country I only know from shows and books, having never been there. As a result, being able to explore it with them was a real pleasure. The positive and negative aspects are reflected, which I think is great because the country is neither idealized nor demonized.
The writing, on the other hand, is fluid and pleasant to read, even if some may find it heavy. Once again, it will depend on each person, on their appreciation. For my part, I like it when everything is described, that I can visualize without any problem, others prefer to be directly in the actions with the least possible details. Each chapter takes us alongside another member of the family and this is what allows us to learn more about them.
This novel is full of sweetness, the last chapter being even more beautiful than the others. Love and family ties are present throughout, which warms the heart, allowing the book to be a feel-good read that will do good, and clues about the final point are scattered throughout the work, so keep your eyes open while reading.
This little feel-good novel was a real treat. I loved reading it and meeting each member of the family. At the end, I would have liked to stay a little longer, but at the same time, the ending was so beautiful that more wouldn't have made sense. I'm more than happy to have been able to discover it.
And would you like to dive into it and discover this family?
