Hello, hello!

Ready for a new discovery? If so, dive with me into the following title. If not, take your time. There's no rush, and you're moving on before reading an article. Taking care of yourself is what matters most. For those who wish to join me, we're off.

Dear readers, my autobiography is not a swan song, but a hymn to life, an ode to the years that mature like a fine wine...

I'm not one of those gloomy souls who sees sixty as the twilight of existence. No! I'm from the "horizontal" generation, the one that stretches, unfolds, and refuses to bend. Certainly, the departures of contemporaries remind me that the pages of the calendar are inexorably turning, but each torn-out leaf is an invitation to fill the following ones with even more thrilling adventures.

Armed with the lessons of my youth, I chart my course with the passion of a conquistador in search of new worlds.

In this first opus, I reveal to you the prelude to my personal epic.

Imagine yourself in front of a puzzle: each piece is a fragment of my life, a quest for satiety in a world where abundance reigns supreme, but never reigns supreme. “A Fish in Water” is not just a title; it is a metaphor for my waltz with existence, a plunge into the depths of my soul where I swim against the current of banality.

I am an eternal lover of the absolute, a seeker of elixirs, a gardener of the soul who cultivates wonder. This book is the story of a man who yearns for fulfillment, whether of the palate, the mind, or the heart. Between satiety and unquenchable thirst, I invite you to discover how I make my life flow with the grace of a fish who has learned to savor every drop of its ocean.

So, dear reading companions, if your curiosity is piqued, if your appetite for understanding is insatiable, grab this volume and dive in with me. You may discover that we are all fish seeking our own current in the vast theater of the universe.

Don't expect to follow a fish in this book, because that won't be the case, far from it. Here, we're told Eric's story. Yes, the author opens up to us; we discover who he is, how he became who he is, and we move forward with him.

Yes, you will have understood, the title is a metaphor representing the author where he himself is the fish pacing the water. The liquid being… Yes indeed, life itself! Here he tells us in a half-philosophical, half-autobiographical way about his way of being, his progress, his reflections and memories while making us understand that we are invited to take the time while savoring life.

The writing is fluid, pleasant and seems close to us as a complicity is created between the author as the page turns. It is pleasant, I find, in such a reading to feel close to the one who wrote. There are just a few moments where I would have liked to linger more, but it depends on the people, maybe for you it will be enough! The pages, for their part, are read quickly and the end of the work arrives very quickly.

On the other hand, the more emotional side is more complex to find. Perhaps it's the succinct nature of the chapters? The descriptions, for example, of his brothers are much briefer and I would have liked to know more, to discover a little more. This element may or may not also please readers because I know that some don't appreciate it when it's too present, preferring it when it's short and direct. Once again, my tastes are not those of everyone and that's a good thing!

“A Fish in Fresh Water” has a comforting and refreshing quality to it, however, when we read it. Something that lifts our spirits when we're not feeling well, something that allows us to take a moment to reflect if we need to. At least, that's how I felt, and I didn't mind it at all, allowing me to take a breather from everyday life.

So, no, it's not a favorite as you can see, but it was still a pleasant read. I know that in another frame of mind, I would have had more difficulty reading it, would surely have misunderstood it, and it is with pleasure that I discovered it now.

And you, would you like to discover what is hidden behind this title?
