Hello, hello!

We're already back together! And yes. Did you miss me? What do you mean, no? Phew. Anyway, we're back to reading again, I hope you're ready because our adventure will take us into a thriller this time.

A sweet name, isn't it? Don't let this element seduce you because there's something very dark about it. I'll let you discover the summary so you can see what I'm getting you into!

April 2031. When the naked, frozen body of Michelle Coltrane is discovered early in the morning in Springfield, Illinois, Detective Azor Streyes has no idea he's stepped into a vicious cycle. Six naked, frozen bodies of young women will mark the legendary Route 66, from Chicago to Los Angeles. What do they have in common? A blue morpho butterfly tattooed on their necks.
Azor Streyes will investigate across the United States, drawing the reader into his discoveries. A complex puzzle set against a backdrop of shady romances, complex friendships, and family plots. Financial, artistic, political, and scientific stakes are at the heart of this unique enigma that addresses the disastrous effects of global warming.
When the sea has eaten away at our coasts and habitable space is considerably reduced, what will the world of tomorrow look like?
A start to an answer that will chill your blood... even in Florida!

As you can see, an investigation awaits us, but especially Azor who will have to understand what is happening, try to understand the facts, the ins and outs. We follow him, therefore, from beginning to end and the character may or may not please depending on each person. Some will not appreciate his way of describing most of the women he meets, others will ignore it and just continue, still others will call him all the names in such moments before resuming the adventure. In short, that, as always, depends on everyone. Either it will pass, or not at all. For my part, I reached the end of the book, so you can imagine that it was and then... It happens that you want to shake or slap a character, why not with the main character? Moreover, it is not the very subject of the work and it is not all the time.

Regarding the investigations, I was caught up in them. Curious too. I wanted to know, to understand what was going on. Azor is captivating in such moments, I really enjoyed following him, thinking in his company and seeing where it all leads us. It's breathtaking, really, and the pages turn smoothly until the final one. The scientific side is also present, enhancing the investigations and can lose some when we don't understand. Fortunately, the Internet can save the day and give us answers. Art is just as present in this thriller, blending into everything, even interweaving itself without any problem in our research, our desire to move forward, to have the answers to our questions.

Some people may find that some passages drag on, that they could go straight to the point. This is also something that varies depending on each person, even if I felt it at certain moments without it penalizing my reading. For those who are curious, I had not guessed the purpose during my reading and thinking back, in fact, it was so logical! I like the fact that it surprises while maintaining a “logical” vision in relation to the work, without distorting it.

I don't know much about thrillers and detective novels, it's not my favorite genre so I have few points of comparison. All I can say is that I enjoyed my discovery, that the work piqued my curiosity throughout by making me want to get to the end and that's what I look for in a book. Wanting to discover it, to "experience" it. So yes, it's a victory for this. Do I plan to try other books of the genre? Surely, but maybe not right away. We'll see.

In any case, I hope I've shared my vision of the Blue Morpho with you correctly. I know that tastes are in nature, but don't hesitate to tell me if you've read it or tried it. The same goes if it doesn't tempt you at all. That doesn't change the fact that I enjoyed living this adventure and sharing it with you, so see you soon for more!

What is your opinion of this book? Would you consider trying it?
