Hello everyone, how are you today?
Ready for a new adventure? If so, follow me in this story that may, or may not, please you depending on your tastes!
On this day, when Warygar, the swordassassin of the Blood Thorn Guild, accepts a new contract, he has no idea what Gosh, the god of surprise, has in store for him...
This is the beginning of a hectic epic, which will take him from the discovery of the disturbing snake-men to the abyss of Phtyra, in search of an artifact of chaos.Even if dangers are omnipresent and fighting around Port Xanthor inevitable, he will be able to count on the help of picturesque companions, wielding iron, magic or words brilliantly, to extricate himself from the worst situations.
Humor and love also take a good share of the spoils in this thrilling fantasy adventure novel, rich in twists and turns...
To begin with, I didn't know the author's pen at all before today. Finally, before I read the novel, it would be better written so that I totally discovered the latter! A pen that will have led me into this surprising story, amusing also because yes some scenes are... The surprise is very present in short! It may be that some people find it long, a rhythm that is sometimes too slow. For the first element, I had this feeling at times although it was not that frequent, but I know that my feelings are not the same as those of other readers.
I discovered the lands, the characters without any problem and I had no trouble imagining them. The group we follow has its own characteristics, elements that will not be a problem for those embarking on fantasy. Because yes, this novel is a great gateway for those who are not used to the genre although calmer than other titles. Is this a bad thing? Absolutely not, and damn it's good to be able to breathe in the company of these broken arms!
All peoples mingle, conspiracies appear and I was caught up in this adventure, the conflicts. Caught up in the fights and dialogues, this novel is one of those that is easy to read when fatigue is present, without any real headaches. Frankly, it's pleasant, especially in view of the author's writing. There have been times when I felt like I was reading a novel based on "The Elder Scroll" (yes, yes it exists!) and I really liked this sweet reminder!
Although not a favorite, the novel is gripping and leads into its universe. It will appeal to both regulars of the genre and newcomers! I hope that my opinion has at least helped you to get an idea, even a brief one, about the title and that it will have made some people want to get into it!
And you, do you plan to try the adventure?
