Hello everyone! How are you today? The cold is getting worse and worse these days, so take care. I'll leave you with the summary of this new read; it might add a little warmth to your day!

There are days when destiny seems to flow, clear and predictable, like a river under the sun. For Béatrice, this end of winter sparkles with promises on the arm of the one she loves; a peaceful web woven of shared laughter and rhythmic footsteps on the cobblestones of Annecy's pedestrian streets... Until fate strikes, brutal and merciless: a tragic accident plunges our heroine into the silent abyss of a coma. Behind the austere door of her hospital room—a cramped place where fragile hopes and harsh realities mingle—events as unexpected as they are inextricable are orchestrated; they will weave the threads of a mystery that is about to turn the entire existence of not only Béatrice, but also that of the constellation of souls that surround her upside down.

What happens when a seemingly innocuous door becomes the symbol of an unexpected emotional journey? “Behind the Door” is a novel that will grab your guts, shake your soul, and ultimately caress your senses with unexpected gentleness. Prepare to be shaken, overwhelmed… and curiously soothed. So, ready to turn the handle? Ready for a journey beyond the threshold of your certainties?

The novel is filled with a delicacy that can be surprising given the modesty found within. A modesty touching on a theme that can be difficult for some: survival. Not just any kind, but that linked to what happens following a road accident, what also happens to those around the victim. It's not easy, it can be complex for some to talk about or read a novel on this subject, and yet, it's enriching.

Here we follow four people, different beings who complement each other, revealing their limits, their weaknesses, and their desires. Nothing is easy, but we must continue to move forward, to live despite the obstacles, the difficulties, the fear. Everything blends together, but at the same time… it shows the difficulty. I really enjoyed seeing the way it was handled, with which the characters also take shape. They are not just beings on paper, because it is easy to experience what they feel.

The author's pen helps on this level, it draws you into this life, this period. The words touch, stay in your mind, can bring back past events or make you smile gently, bring tears to your eyes. The feelings follow one another, mixed with hope, with the desire to see progress for each of them while turning their minds upside down in relation to imminent death. I admit that the title made me curious about this, pushing me to do some research.

The reading is really fluid, without boredom. I didn't feel any heaviness during it, immersed in the story until the very last page, which meant that I didn't come out unscathed... In the good sense of the term. Because the novel made me feel many emotions as you saw, and made me ask myself questions. It's easy to realize that we don't know everything and... It really shook me up. I don't regret reading it or discovering it at all!

And what do you think about all this? Do you plan to delve into the novel?
