The sequel picks up where we left off with our beloved characters just before. Barely time to catch their breath before they have to move forward in the face of what's happening in this ever-fascinating world. There's no denying it, once back in the universe created by the author, the marks are reclaimed, the imagination works again, trying to visualize everything.

Which is made easier, always, by his fluid and descriptive pen that will have put stars in my eyes again. The summary of the first volume present allows for a rather pleasant reminder if the reading of this one takes place a long time after that of the previous one. There is also a glossary, very useful for remembering words, characters or cities. In short, everything is done so that we can quickly dive into this second volume!

The plot is gripping, intoxicating and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout, sometimes making me want to act or wonder how a certain event will have an impact on what is happening. The mysteries and lies follow one another, mingle, lead to the finality of the second volume and offer little or no surprise if you have paid attention to everything. Some may want something more surprising, but for my part, it was enough for me! For those who are not the biggest fans of romance, don't worry: it is present between the characters, but in small touches, so that it does not take up all the space.

The characters, for their part, continue to move forward, to bond, to endure and grow thanks to this adventure. Their perceptions of the world can be turned upside down, the discussions call certain things into question. A bit like us in our everyday lives where nothing can shake us up and make us think. Our protagonists are endearing, even more so than in the first volume, and, as a result, I suffered with them, wanted to move forward in their company... I simply wanted them to succeed.

A second volume in the vein of the first, which completes it wonderfully and leads to the third. An exciting, captivating volume that allows the whole thing to continue its progress for better or for worse. A sweet treat that always manages to get off the beaten track of fantasy and steampunk, which keeps the codes while working on them in its own way. I can't wait for the next one!
