Aaah, adventures... There are some who prepare them and others who suffer them. Can you imagine where our hero will be in view of the title? And yes... An adventure that came to him without him having asked for it! I'll let you discover the summary before moving on.

Paul, a seventeen-year-old teenager, runs a candy shop. He is reputed to be the best confectioner in the country thanks to an ingredient that only he has the secret to. One day, Prune, a young customer, asks her for a special candy cane. Despite his talent and the extent of his creations, Paul cannot satisfy the young girl. Stung by his reputation and attached to the satisfaction of his customers, Paul took up the challenge. to make this mysterious candy cane. But to do this, he will have to find the famous secret ingredient without which he cannot make the recipe.
During a surprising adventure where certain paths turn out to be as dangerous as they are magical and utopian, Paul and Prune embark side by side
in a quest full of unforeseen events.

It is thanks to the fluid pen of Andréane Livory that the novel "An Unexpected Adventure" took me away without me getting bored at the bend of the lines, the landscape, the characters. Even if the novel lends itself much better to winter – when the book will be released, it's a good thing! - it was a little moment of sweetness in the middle of this incessant rain. Yes, it changes!

I liked the fact that it was quite direct in terms of turns of phrase, without too many embellishments, even if I would have liked to have had more details at certain times. But that's my taste and I know that many will prefer the more direct side that makes the pages go by much faster. Because yes, the 257 pages went by just as quickly... not just a letter in the post, because it can be long, but just a gust of wind!

As soon as you get into the story, it's good... It grabs us and makes us want to know what will happen to our characters, how their bond will evolve and above all... whether their adventure will come to an end properly. We discover a rich, exciting universe about which I would have liked to know more and more. Some chapters may seem long to some people, personally it was not my case, but it may happen that a feeling of "slowing down" is felt in these. But isn't it a welcome break from a potentially breathless adventure? It's up to you to see how you will take it!

So I had a good time with them, even if it's not love at first sight I will offer it without any problem to people who appreciate such novels. And then... Isn't the most important thing to enjoy our reading or what life gives us? On the other hand, I'm sure that reading will be even more magical during the end of year celebrations.
