Enter the Gungeon is a dungeon exploration game where a horde of adventurers tugs at all costs, loots, wields dodge rolls and topples tables in hopes of redemption.
Enter the Gungeon is a nervous and completely crazy roguelike, where you dive into a dungeon full of enemies armed to the teeth... sometimes literally. Each game is a new frenetic descent, with randomly generated rooms, unlikely weapons, and acrobatic dodges. It's a game that focuses on pure action and immediate fun.
I loved the creativity of the weapons: from simple guns to completely crazy finds, we are always surprised to come across an object that changes the way we play. The pace is intense, the fights require reflexes and precision, and the feeling of progress, even after multiple defeats, remains rewarding. The omnipresent humor, both in the enemies and in the references, brings a welcome lightness in this chaos.
On the other hand, you have to like the difficulty. The game is not easily forgiving, and the first few hours are often synonymous with repeated failure. The learning curve is steep, and this can be daunting if you're looking for a more accessible or relaxing experience. The randomness of the runs can also be frustrating: coming across a bad arsenal makes some games much more difficult.
In summary, Enter the Gungeon is a nugget for fans of demanding roguelike and frenetic action, who will appreciate its humor and variety of weapons. But it is primarily for those who like to take on challenges and start over and over again, until they tame the chaos.
