How are you? I hope everything is going well and you're ready for a new discovery. If so, I'll leave you with the summary and I hope you enjoy it! Enjoy!

When our heart has wings, every beat counts. In a world where everyone is born with a bird for a heart, Orion Gershwin leads a solitary life in the peaceful village of Bourg-Soufflé. His life changes the day Florence, engaged to the formidable Prince Talon, crosses his path. Orion falls under the young woman's spell, but his heart, Moineau, flies away with her, leaving him physically and emotionally empty. His days are now numbered: he must reach Moineau as soon as possible! But to do so, he will have to face the unknown in the grandiose city of Nidargent.

From the very first pages of Les Cœurs-Oiseaux by Clara Le Corre, I was captivated by a world where every inhabitant is born with a bird for a heart. Orion, a lonely boy from the peaceful village of Bourg-Soufflé, sees his world turned upside down when Florence enters his life: by falling in love, his bird-heart, Moineau, flies away with her. Deprived of his essential being, he then understands that his time is running out and decides to go looking for her, determined to brave everything to find her.

What I deeply appreciated was the delicate metaphor of the heart transformed into a bird. This poetic idea perfectly serves Orion's quest, which becomes an adventure of identity, emotions, and encounters. As he leaves his village, the story takes on a new dimension of imagination: he meets Colette, a whimsical inventor, discovers the steampunk mechanisms of the city of Silvernid, and faces challenges that go beyond simply winning back his heart. The universe is rich, coherent, full of charm and surprises that make you want to see more.

Clara Le Corre's writing is simple and lively, accessible to all ages, yet full of nuance. She uses wordplay based on avian expressions with precision and humor, without ever turning fantasy into artifice. The style will appeal to young readers as well as those looking for something tender and original, without unnecessary heaviness.

Some may experience a rapid surge of emotion when they meet Florence, but it's a narrative choice that balances out as we follow Orion on his journey. The initial romantic impulse takes on meaning within a larger human adventure: a journey of learning and self-questioning, where the supporting characters bring color, humor, and emotional depth.

In short, The Bird Hearts is an elegant, touching, and whimsical metaphorical fantasy. Perfect for lovers of stories where metaphor blossoms into a real quest, where magic rhymes with the quest for self, and where emotion creeps in gently, without forcing the reader, but with force. A wonderful discovery for anyone who wants to travel into a dreamlike, yet profoundly human, imagination.

And you, are you going to try the adventure?
